Who Can Join?

Our club is open to New Members, Affiliates and other schools seeking a politically free environment in which to teach, train and learn, Our members' age from 5yrs thru to retirees and we offer a teaching support network that is second to none. Whether you are athletic, unfit, outgoing or shy our system is designed to provide the support you need so that you can benefit from your training.

Good Health

Good health is important for us to live a satisfying life, as you train you will be introduced slowly to various stretching, breathing and coordination exercises that can assist us in all aspects of our daily lives, regular training gets us "off the couch" and helps us develop a more health conscious, fulfilling lifestyle.

Patterns

At Shim jang Taekwondo we study the original 20 Chang-Hon or Chon-Ji style patterns that were developed and have been taught since taekwondo's inception back in the late 1950's. These patterns help to instil in our members a sense of pride, achievement, skill and confidence while at the same time assisting them to continually hone and develop their self defence skills.

Instruction

Our organisation boasts some of the country's most experienced instructors who have a wealth of knowledge to share with our members, some of our more senior instructors have over 30 years experience in the art of taekwondo and have been instrumental in the arts overall growth, development and success here in this country. Our instructors are experts in their field and will confidently guide you on your Shim Jang TKD journey.

No Expensive Seminars

Thanks to our size and virtually unlimited resources our members are not forced to pay exorbitant fees to instructors from other countries for seminars lasting just a few hours, our Master, Regional and Senior Instructors have a vast history of international teaching and learning and are more than happy to share their incredible knowledge and hard earned experience with our dedicated members at every opportunity.

No Tournaments

Shim Jang Taekwondo does not hold tournaments; although tournaments can be seen as an effective way of promoting a club we believe them to be counterproductive to the study of "Original" Taekwondo. It is common sense that we only have a certain amount of time to practice, we believe that the more time you spend learning to "Point Fight" the less time you have to learn and benefit from the real "ART".  From a promotional point of view we are quite happy to let our ability as instructors and our reputation as a world class organisation do the talking for us.

To all affiliates & new members; On behalf of all W.S.T.A Instructors it gives me great pleasure and deep honour to welcome you to the art of Shim Jang Taekwondo.

Since the early 1980's our organisation has built a strong reputation for providing members of the public with top quality martial arts and self defence instruction. more
